BIO-INTEL-MOB launches survey on transport and logistics challenges in peri-urban areas

BIO-INTEL-MOB is inviting transport and logistics professionals to contribute to a new research survey exploring mobility challenges and opportunities in peri-urban areas across Europe.

The survey targets stakeholders involved in transport, logistics, mobility planning, operations, and data management, particularly those with practical experience in peri-urban contexts. These areas, situated between urban and rural environments, often face unique mobility challenges due to dispersed populations, mixed land use, and growing transport demand.

The research covers 12 countries: Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, the Netherlands, Türkiye, and Ukraine. Findings from the survey will help shape future BIO-INTEL-MOB activities and support the development of innovative solutions to improve passenger and freight transport in peri-urban areas.

By gathering insights, the project seeks to identify key operational challenges and opportunities to improve mobility services, optimise logistics operations, reduce congestion, and minimise environmental and social impacts.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and all responses will remain anonymous. Results will be analysed collectively and published only in anonymised form.

Take part in the survey by 30 June 2026!

The project team also encourages participants to share the survey with colleagues and organisations working in transport and logistics who may have relevant experience in peri-urban areas.
